Q & A: When You Need Physical Rehabilitation

“My doctor recommends rehab. What should I expect?”

Your rehab plan will be designed to manage pain, restore function and help you be more independent with your daily activities. On your first rehab visit, an experienced physical, occupational or speech therapist will complete a detailed evaluation. This will serve as the baseline for your individualized treatment plan. The goals are to maximize your recovery and provide education for you and your caregivers.

“Who needs rehabilitation?”

Each year, adults and children with injuries and a variety of health conditions enter physical rehabilitation. Rehab is often beneficial for recovery from:
  • muscle and bone problems;
  • surgery such as a joint replacement;
  • neurological disorders such as stroke; and
  • sports or work-related injuries.

“Where do I go for rehab?”
